At last the "tree", planted by the toyota motors to shift towards the "greener side" is now bearing fruits. Australia recognizes its efforts and initiatives to make the motor vehicles more eco-friendly. The latest prius, launched in early July, won a prestigious "Green Innovation Award" and "People's Choice Award".
The judges reckoned the Toyota Prius as innovative and "practical family car" continued to set benchmark for fuel efficient motoring. Furthermore they said that "Toyota was instrumental in hybrid techonoligy and making it popular to the point where most major car makers are now following suit".
"Hybrid have had many critics and, while the technology is not perfect it makes a sizeable step towards more effecient motoring. Something that's becoming more relevant everyday. Prius has gone from something of a science experiment to a practical, innovative family car."
The award was announced by the Fairfax Drive national Motoring editor Toby Hagon, while it was judged by nine of the top most experienced motoring journalists. The "People's Choice Award" was awarded as a general poll result, decided by the readers of the Fairfax Drive Online.
Toyota Australia's manager, Vic Johnston sure looked contented and stated that the iconic prius has now mainstream acceptance and the new generation prius has re-inventedthe transition of passenger carsfrom conventional power to hybrid delivery.
"Its success and acceptance is based on a greater understanding of the compelling need to save fuel and to reduce the environmental foot print of motoring", He added further.
This is not the only success that the Toyota Prius has witnessed so far. Infact prius has won its first major international award, recognized as the "Japenese Car Of The Year."
According to Japan Automobile Dealers Association's claim, third generation prius has been Japan's best selling car grabbing the 10.8% share of all the motor vehicle sales in September all over Japan.
Some of its basic features has been enhanced resulting in improved fuel effeciency of about 11.3% which means that it can cover a distance of 100Km in just 3.9 litres. Further improved features include 1.8-litre petrol engine and an electric motor of 100KW.
Amazingly carbon emission of the prius is as low as 89g per kilometer which is the lowest as compared to any vehicle in Australia so far and until now Toyota has been able to sell 1.5 million units the prius world wide out of which 14000 have been utilized in Australia alone.

Toyota Prius Hybrid - Hit By Brakes Fault.
The best selling, Japanese Toyota hybrid car, known as Toyota Prius has received complaints in their brakes mechanism. Analysts project severe revenue downfall due to it.
The new Toyota's gas-electric hybrid car, which was released and became available for sale in Japan and U.S.A in May 2009 has been a best selling model with 4.5 million vehicles already finding their owners.
The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has received 180 complaints about the brakes of the Prius new model. The fault involves, remaining of the gas pedal in depressed position.
Two crashes have so far been reported due to this fault resulting in injuries.
It's not the first time as Toyota had received 14 complaints well before in July, last year as claimed by the Japan's transport ministry. One of these 14 complaints includes a crash, when a prius at the Japan's intersection crashed into another car. This crash also resulted in some injuries as reported by Masaya Ota, a transport ministry official. He further added:
"The Prius driver in the accident told police that a brake did not work," Ota said. "Other Prius drivers also complained brakes were not so sharp." The complaints in Japan involve the new Prius model, and the vehicles were all made in Japan".
The ministry has already ordered an investigation to be held. Toyota spokeswoman Ririko Takeuchi said the company has received reports about the Prius complaints in transparent none repeat scroll North America and in Japan and was now looking into the matter.
As the wise men said "A mistake is not infertile" the Toyota has been hit by some financial implications because of this fault. It's shares drop by 5.7% to 3400 Yen when the stock holders start dumping their shares after this news however 19000 vehicles which have been already imported from Japan to America are not part of the recall. Any serious issue regarding its current fault can result a downfall of an innovative hybrid, eco-friendly car.

New Toyota Yaris. Tests have begun
The new generation of Toyota Yaris already passes tests for the European roads. Apparently, Yaris will not undergo global changes. The car will keep the traditional appearance though, certainly, all body elements become others (on photos is represented new knots and units dressed in an old body). Another promises to be and in interior which will receive better materials of furnish and weight modern updates.
But Yaris can surprise admirers of Japanese car industry. After all this model promises to become the firstcompact model in Europe with the hybrid engine! And, the similar power-plant will appear on new Yaris in 2012. Most likely, the hybrid on Yaris will unite 1,0 or the 1,3-liter petrol motor and the electric motor.

Press Release
Toyota Australia today confirmed it will add the rugged retro looks and solid off-road performance of the FJ Cruiser to its range early next year.
A pre-production version of the sporty off-roader will make its local debut at the Australian International Motor Show in October.
Local sales are expected to kick-off late in the first quarter of 2011.
FJ Cruiser will give Toyota a second brand-enhancing vehicle inside 12 months, following the launch of the eye-catching Rukus from June 1.
With looks like no other SUV, FJ Cruiser comes to Australia with a pedigree that stretches back 50 years to the legendary FJ40 LandCruiser.
The modern vehicle captures this heritage with its body-on-frame structure, short wheelbase, stocky appearance and the arrangement of its headlights and grille.
FJ Cruiser will be the only Toyota vehicle to use the name Toyota spelled out across the grille, instead of the corporate emblem.
The vehicle's retro-inspired styling is enhanced by the boxy shape, near-vertical windscreen with three wipers, white roof and wrap-around rear windows.
Four doors provide access to two rows of seats. The front doors are standard size while the rear doors are smaller and are reverse-opening.
The FJ - equipped with a powerful engine, dual-range 4WD, excellent ground clearance and ample suspension articulation - will deliver the off-road prowess implied by its "Cruiser" badge.
Toyota Australia's senior executive director
sales and marketing David Buttner said FJ Cruiser was all about style and substance.
"FJ Cruiser has loads of character that isn't found in any other SUV, let alone one that is built for off-road terrain," Mr Buttner said.
"It will be a lot of fun to own and drive, satisfying those who want a modern vehicle with the boulder-crawling spirit of Toyota's legendary off-roaders," he said.
In the United States, the FJ Cruiser has recently been awarded for its quality and its value.
In the J.D. Power and Associates 2010 Initial Quality Study, it was rated at the top of the Compact Crossover/SUV segment.
FJ Cruiser was also named best-in-class for mid-size SUVs in the 2010 IntelliChoice.com Best Overall Values of the Year Awards.
Australian models will be produced in Japan.
The Australian International Motor Show will be held in Sydney from October 15.
