New Focus ST

Autumn of this year on a motor show in Paris (the exhibition will open for the press on September, 30th) company Ford will present the new version of model Focus ST. This car will differ from usual Focus new generation which have already been shown general public, not only an aggressive aerodynamic weather-cloth and a rigid suspension. The engine – here is the main thing.

Uder cowl Focus ST following generation will be a gasoline engine in volume of 2,0 l with a turbo-supercharging which begins to give out an order of 250 h.p. (for comparison, now Focus ST has 225 h.p.). According to preliminary data, thanks to new motor Focus ST from 0 to 100 km/h for 6 sec. only, and the maximum speed of model will reach 250 km/h (now 6,8 sec and 241 km/h).

By the way, Ford has begun work and on version Focus RS. This model will already have more than 300 h.p. (at present Focus RS – 305 h.p.), and model will receive a hybrid power-plant – the petrol motor will work here together with the electric motor which will start to rotate rear wheels. Thus, new generation Focus RS becomes all-wheel drive! Besides, electric motor use will allow to reduce blowouts of harmful substances in atmosphere and to lower fuel consumption
